The name of the game is Florals. Once confined as an accent on a cake or an edible garnish, the rules have evolved. Florals are no longer just the colorful sidekick. 2018 has thrown a game changer, floral infused EVERYTHING.
Whether a beautiful fragrance to spritz on at the start of your day or a soft touch to brighten up a home, flowers and the entrancing scents they provide have been a staple in our daily lives. But what has 2018 brought us? A new way to utilize our favorite scents! Scan the menus at your favorite bars and restaurants and you will find these beauties in tasty bites, nonalcoholic refreshers, or (everyone’s favorite) spiked masterpieces.
It’s all about the beverages now! Scents like Elderflower, Rose, Hibiscus, and Lavender have taken 2018 by storm. One of the new year’s health kick trends, kombucha, is any easy way for you to take advantage of the floral movement. Pick up a Kombucha at your local grocery store, or make your own!
What is kombucha you ask? Kombucha is a fermented drink made with black or green tea, and a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast known as a SCOBY. It also provides healthy probiotics to help balance good gut bacteria and help boost your immune system. It also includes tea health elements like antioxidants. But what about food?! Rose scented chicken is an oldie, but goodie. The floral rose beautifully seasons the meal. Think of florals like herbs instead of just garnish. Looking for a way to spice up your BBQ? Try a Hibiscus BBQ sauce for a twist! Last but not least, our favorite, the lavender crusted lamb lollipop. “Yum” just doesn’t cover it!
