Feature: The Knot

Every detail of Heather and Jon’s Raspberry Plain wedding was adorable – so adorable it was featured in the Spring/Summer 2011 edition of The Knot!! The rustic inspired wedding included tons of small details;  burlap tablecloths, river stones as escort cards, and a dessert display handmade by the father of the bride!

It was a pleasure working with Three Lights Photography , event planner Vicki Grafton of My Simple Details and Holly Chapple Flowers!

We are so excited that one of our Senior Account Executives, Meagan Hegenbarth, is featured in the Spring 2011 issue of Brides Washington. Meagan & Thomas were married July 10, 2010 at the historical Decatur House in Washington, DC.

The beautiful floral arrangements were designed by  Volanni.

Behind the Scenes: Hitched Salon, Volanni & RSVP Catering

We thought we’d share a few behind the scenes pictures from our Channel 9 shoot which aired Friday, July 30th.

Meagan gave tips on how to wow your guests with a menu of smaller meals, offering short plate courses. Another popular & fun way to lower cost is to design a dessert display! By selecting desserts to match your color palette, you can incorporate a beautiful display into your decor while surprising your guests with a sampling of sweets. We’ve included a smaller wedding cake for the official Bride & Groom Cake Cutting – and with Michael’s savvy wedding florals turned reception cake topper, we have a fabulous centerpiece for the display. These treats include our petit signature cupcakes with gold dusted blueberries, lavender truffles, cheesecake lollipops, double chocolate demuline pastries with polka dots & homemade raspberry chambord marshmallows.

Michael Lanni showed off his creative & artist skills with a collection of stunning flower arrangements while sharing ways to make a strong, floral impact without exceeding your budget.

Thanks to Michael Lanni & his team at Volanni and Julia & the Hitched ladies for a fun filled Monday morning! The official shoot will be Thursday and is scheduled to air this Friday, July 30th during the 6:00 pm hour.

District Weddings: Tasting Recap

“Last Thursday, November 5^th, I was lucky enough to attend an absolutely FABULOUS tasting held at RSVP Catering.  Setting the standard for DC metro events, RSVP never fails to impress with its fresh ingredients, innovative dishes and cocktails, and outstanding service.

RSVP also boasts its signature in-house party rental equipment, allowing you to plan your entire event as smoothly as possible.

For the grand finale,RSVP Catering presented a dessert table that portrayed nothing less than a gourmet candy land!  Next to a Holiday Cheesecake Lollipop Trio towered a pyramid filled sky high with delicious Holiday Mini Cupcakes.  There were also RSVP Signature Petit Fours, Mexican Weddings Cookies, and Designer Chocolate Dipped Strawberries- too many to choose from!”

Food Trends: Smaller Portions

“Smaller portions and small plates are a trend. People want to taste a lot of different things, so we’ll have kobe beef sliders, miniature crab cakes. We’re always looking for different ways to present things, whether it be antique vessels or things like cool little spoons. Mason jars are very popular right now for things like pink lemonade. We started an organics line a couple of years ago, and we use small local farmers as much as possible. We try to add a bit of whimsy, have a sense of fun wiht our food – for those sliders, our chef might add something like caramelized gorgonzola.” – CEO RSVP Catering, Larry Abrams

Correspondent’s Dinner Coverage

“The Embassy of Finland was home to DC Magazine and international PR firm the Brunswick Group’s cocktail party, which celebrated the release of the magazine’s May/June travel issue and the opening of “MyHelsinki,” the current embassy exhibition.

Some 200 guests, including White House staffers and area artists, mingled alongside a series of tree-shaped Plexiglas and wood installations covered with travel memorabilia, digital frames, and video projections.”
